We’re back from vacation and I must say, my high hopes were not let down!
Overall we had a great time, but naturally it wouldn’t be a family vacation without a few mishaps. Hurricane force winds mixed with a broken DVD player in the camper, made for a rather interesting “beach getaway” in the Keys.
We did venture out the morning the winds began, but since they seem to have a lack of public restrooms in the Keys, Anne of course had a potty mishap in the center of town, all over my dress.
She got new shorts and I got a napkin from the ice cream store to wipe myself off with.
On to Magic Kingdom in Orlando where Lyn and I had planned for Grace and Andy to have their surprise meeting in front of the big Christmas tree in the middle of the plaza.
Of course, we hadn’t informed Disney of our plans and they didn’t put up the tree until a couple days after we arrived.
We quickly altered our meeting area to what ended up being in front of the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon in frontier land.
A bit of a let down from the tree, but the kids didn’t know the difference and met in the middle of the street right before the big holiday parade was about to begin.
They were ecstatic and were joined at the hip throughout the rest of our time in Disney.
My most humiliating moment came when in the restroom at
I had both the girls with me in the stall and Anne decided to swing open the door.
Now, I’m sure you all know how busy theme park bathrooms are and our stall was near the front of the line.
It was like a car accident.
Everyone had to slow down to look at the screaming mom sitting on the pot with her underpants around her ankles, but no one stopped to help.
Taking a line from Lyn…Good Times!
It really was though, and good or bad, at wits end
or not, our trip wouldn’t have been the same without them!!
